WEST JORDAN, Utah — The West Jordan Jaguars' football team raised over $20,000 through their virtual "liftathon" fundraiser.
A big part of this football team's season relies on fundraisers, but normal tactics had to shift in order to adapt to the COVID-19 pandemic. Coaches recruited the company "Anython" to boost their efforts...virtually.
People donated 5 cents for every pound the players lifted. Carter Baldwin, a player on the team said he raised about $600.
Head Coach Carson Mund promised to get a mullet haircut if they reached their goal of $15,000...and to kick off the team's summer camp, he delivered!
The money the team raised will help buy uniforms, weight room equipment and cover camp fees.
