OGDEN, Utah — Ogden Police Officer Nathan Lyday was laid to rest Saturday afternoon in Ogden.

Lyday, an Ogden native and a second-generation police officer, was shot and killed May 28 while responding to a domestic violence call. He had been on the force for just over a year.

Funeral services were held at Lindquist Field Saturday morning, where speakers included his parents Nancy and Andrew Lyday, his older brother Cody Lyday, Ogden Police Chief Steven Watt, Officer Dylan Aeschlimann and Gov. Gary Herbert, who on Friday ordered all flags at state facilities and public grounds to be flown at half-staff on Saturday in Lyday's honor.

His casket was transported to Lindquist Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch.
