FARMINGTON, Utah — Lagoon Amusement Park will not open this weekend as previously scheduled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the company announced Monday.

"The health and safety of our guests, employees, and the community is of utmost importance. This will be the first time since the end of WWII that Lagoon has not opened on schedule for any reason other than an inclement weather day," Lagoon's announcement said. "Our understanding is that the Davis County Health Department directive is set to expire on April 1st, but could be extended."

Lagoon's announcement said the park is otherwise ready for operation and they have a number of upgrades and improvements, including a new ride, that they hope patrons can enjoy in the near future.
