COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — A 15-year-old South Jordan girl who had been missing for over a month has been located in Colorado Springs after a nationwide search in which several people were arrested, but were not tied directly to her disappearance.
Alisa Petrov voluntarily walked into the Colorado Springs Police Department on Sunday and said that she was the missing teen.
"Alisa is in good health and safe with Colorado officials," the South Jordan Police Department wrote early Monday.
Petrov's parents worked with the police to bring her home. Alisa's mother told FOX 13 News that they know few details about their daughter, but they headed to Colorado Springs to reunite with her.
The family shared a statement hours after Alisa was located.
"Thank you everyone for all your help! Thank you for sharing the news, thank you for following, and thank you for the tips! Alisa walked into a police department today on June 1 2025. She was gone for almost 6 weeks.
"Special thanks to the South Jordan Police Department who worked on weekends, and to the Salt Lake City FBI who helped them. Thank you to all of our friends for your help and support, to Jaz from Missing In America Network for the best emotional support in such stressful situations.
"Also special thank you to our local community for Praying!"
No details have been released regarding where Petrov had been during the time she was missing.
Petrov had last been seen on the morning of April 21 when she left her American Fork school. She later received a ride to a Utah Transit Authority train station before getting off the train in Provo and asking people for help getting to Las Vegas.
Three men have been arrested across the country after allegedly having contact with the teen before she went missing, but none were tied to her disappearance.
