UTAH COUNTY — Multiple agencies responded to what is being referred to as the "Stillwater Fire" west of Utah Lake Saturday afternoon.

The fire grew rapidly due to high winds in the area. Officials estimated it at 40 acres and 70 percent contained as of Saturday evening. Crews established a fire line around the perimeter, and later in the afternoon it was announced that the fire's growth had "halted." Some crews are expected to remain on the scene through the night to monitor and cleanup.

The cause of fire is under investigation, but officials are looking at target shooters as a possibility.

Multiple aircraft were used to drop retardant on the fire, along with ground units.
