UINTAH COUNTY, Utah — A new wildfire was reported Monday afternoon in eastern Utah.

The Stewart Lake Fire threatened structures in Uintah County at one point, but state wildfire officials say the fire behavior is now "minimal" and they are no longer in danger.

Later Monday evening, Utah Wildfire Info said fire activity had reduced "significantly" due to a decrease in temperature and an increase in humidity.

The fire was 300 acres at the latest estimate.

The cause is under investigation.

*Officials initially reported that the fire was in Duchesne County but later issued a correction.
