SALT LAKE CITY — A dog died in a house fire in Salt Lake City Friday evening.

The fire, which burned two homes near 300 East Hubbard Avenue (near 900 South), did not result in any civilians or firefighters.

The cause is still under investigation, but authorities say it may have started in a van outside and spread to the homes.

Although one dog did not make it, three other dogs and one cat were pulled out of the structure.

A GoFundMe campaign has been set up for the victims and can be found here.
