SALT LAKE CITY — A 2-alarm fire in Salt Lake City posed a threat to nearby structures Wednesday, although crews were able to get the fire under control before any damage occurred.

The Salt Lake City Fire Department responded to the vegetation fire located in the Wasatch Hollow neighborhood, near 1800 East 1400 South, just before 5 p.m., and within 45 minutes, said they had a good handle on the fire and had it under control.

A second alarm was called as a preemptive measure in case additional crews were needed after the first teams said the fire was moving rapidly upon their arrival.
