CENTERVILLE, Utah — An elderly man is dead after a crash on southbound I-15 in Centerville Wednesday morning.
According to the Utah Highway Patrol, the crash happened at about 11:32 near the Parrish Ln. off-ramp.
A news release from UHP said a passenger car crossed from the center lane to attempt to exit at Parrish Ln., but crashed into an impact attenuator and came to a rest in the right lane.
"A semi truck that was slightly behind the crash saw what happened and stopped his semi truck in the lane to protect the disabled/crashed vehicle," the news release said.
According to UHP, a 1994 Nissan Sentra crashed into the semi-trailer at full freeway speed. The Sentra driver, whose name was not released, died in the crash.
