SANDY, Utah — One person died Tuesday afternoon in a house fire in Sandy.
The fire was on the second story of the home located on S. Tall Pines Way (approximately 2000 East), according to Sandy Fire Battalion Chief Michael Bullock.
Neighbors called 911 after seeing smoke coming from the house, Bullock said. Flames and smoke were visible when Sandy and Draper fire crews arrived, and they were able to extinguish it within about 20 minutes.
One person was found deceased inside the home. Officials have not yet provided any identifying information. Nobody else was injured.
Investigators from Sandy fire and police departments are on the scene and are working to determine the cause of the fire and the victim's death.
