One of them was able to ride out and call for help.

Another rider was injured in the avalanche but was evacuated from the area by employees of Ruby 360 Lodge. The individual received medical attention, but the severity of their injuries was not stated.

The third person, a man whose name was not released, was confirmed deceased Sunday morning. Search and rescue crews had to suspend the recovery effort Saturday evening due to unstable snow conditions and limited visibility.

Lamoille Canyon Road was closed Sunday at 6 a.m. for crews continue the recovery effort. The man's body was confirmed to have been recovered around 10:40 a.m.

This grim milestone marks the country's 30th avalanche death of the 2020-2021 winter season, and the state of Nevada's first.
