DAVIS COUNTY, Utah — One person died Saturday afternoon* in an off-road vehicle accident in Farmington Canyon.
The side-by-side utility task vehicle (UTV) rolled over, ejecting both the driver and passenger.
The driver was able to come off the mountain and call for help, but he did not know where the passenger was or what their condition was, according to Davis County Sheriff's Search and Rescue.
However, the driver told police he placed a football-sized rock on the road where he came down from the mountain just below the crash site, and rescuers were then able to locate the passenger, who sustained fatal injuries.
It was not specified if the riders were wearing seatbelts or helmets.
The deceased individual's name was not released.
