TAYLORSVILLE, Utah — Police are investigating an apparent assault in Taylorsville after a man showed up at a Savers store with multiple stab wounds.
According to Unified Police Detective Ken Hansen, the 26-year-old man was stabbed at Callaway Apartments, located at 1141 W. 3900 South, Saturday at around 10:30 a.m. before fleeing to the nearby Savers about a mile west of the apartment complex.
Store employees helped administer medical aid by applying pressure to the man's wounds before first responders arrived. He passed out from loss of blood at one point and is believed to be in serious condition.
Investigators are working to find out exactly what happened, and not many details were released, but Hansen said it is an "unusual" situation.
Hansen said the victim and suspect may have known each other, and the victim may have been visiting. However, he added that the victim may also be a suspect in a crime of some sort, and the suspect may also be a victim.
Police may release a description of the suspect's vehicle, Hansen said.
Hansen said one person has been detained in connection with the incident, although it was not clear if they were a suspect in the assault.
