GARFIELD COUNTY, Utah — A stranded calf was reunited with its mother Tuesday after falling into a canyon.
Search and rescue crews responded to a steep, narrow canyon near Bryce Canyon City where the young cow had fallen and was unable to get out, Garfield County Sheriff Danny Perkins wrote on Twitter and Facebook.
A rope rescue team responded and rappelled down into the canyon, where they tied straps around the calf.
The animal was then hoisted to safety by an industrial lift. After being rescued this calf was looking for her mother because she was hungry. Her mom wasn’t far away and will be glad to see her calf.
