SALT LAKE CITY -- Salt Lake City Police are looking into possible human remains found by a passer-by Friday.

According to SLCPD Sgt. Keith Horrocks, they received a report that someone had found what looked like a human bone and some clothing near 1400 N. Warm Springs Road, located between Interstate 15 and a set of railroad tracks.

Investigators responded and confirmed finding the bone -- possibly a human femur -- and clothing that was reported. However, no other bones or clothing were found in the surrounding area.

It will be sent to the medical examiner's office to confirm if the bone is human or not.
