WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah — West Valley City Police arrested a man last week after he was accused of sexually abusing a young girl.
Cruz Alberto Gomez-Munos, 26, faces three counts of aggravated sexual abuse of a child and one count of sodomy on a child, all felonies.
A WVCPD investigator interviewed the alleged victim at the Children's Justice Center. The girl told police she was abused on July 27, and officers took Gomez-Munos into custody three days later.
According to a probable cause statement, Gomez-Munos denied the allegations against him.
Police said they learned Gomez-Munos had been deported from South Dakota to Mexico in December and he returned to the United States three months ago.
Gomez-Munos has been booked into the Salt Lake County Jail.
