WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah — A woman was killed in a hit-and-run Friday night in West Valley City.
Just after 11 p.m., a woman in her early 20s was found outside the crosswalk at 1251 W. 3300 South.
The woman was identified Sunday as 23-year-old Shantel Sponsler.
The driver of the vehicle that hit her fled the scene, police say, but was later located and is cooperating with the investigation. The driver did not realize they had hit a person, police say.
