Trump delivers farewell address, says 'movement' is just beginning

WASHINGTON — On his last full day in office, President Donald Trump released his farewell address to the nation Tuesday, telling his supporters "the movement we started is only just beginning."

In the video, Trump touts his accomplishments, saying "we did what we came here to do - and so much more."

The president also applauded his administrations efforts with the U.S. economy and worldwide relationships."

"We built the greatest economy in the history of the world." said Trump. "We revitalized our alliances and rallied the nations of the world to stand up to China like never before."

Trump addressed the storming of the Capitol building by his supporters after he directed them to “fight” the election results showing he lost.

He said that “all Americans were horrified by the assault on our Capitol” and that “political violence is an attack on everything we cherish as Americans” and “can never be tolerated.”

Trump will break tradition and not attend the inauguration of President-elect Joe Biden on Wednesday. He and the First Lady will depart Washington for their home in Florida before the ceremonies begin.
