An unopened copy of one of the first games on the original Nintendo Entertainment System now holds the record for the most money paid for a video game.
Heritage Auctions says the game – still sealed in its packaging – sold at auction for $114,000 on Friday.
The cartridge still had a hang tab underneath the plastic, indicating it was one of the first variants of the 1985 game.
The sale was part of the auction house’s comics and comic art sale.
