Even if you’re like me and you #lovesummerhateeverythingelse, you also need to stop and appreciate the cinnamony goodness of a Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte. And guess what? They will be available in just a few short weeks, on Aug. 27!

The coffee giant hasn’t officially announced the return of the PSL, but Insider reports that Starbucks employees leaked the date on social media. The drink launched last year on Aug. 28, so the timing is right.

Even though it won’t feel cool enough outside to drink one until about Halloween, we can all get excited about one of our favorite seasonal coffee treats making its long-awaited return to the menu.

It just wouldn’t feel like autumn without one of those orange, nutmeg-spiced coffee drinks in our hand (are you a hold-the-whipped-cream or an extra-whipped-cream person, by the way?), and I’m sure there will be plenty of people lining up to get one, even if it’s an iced version.

Starbucks is also planning to debut a new Salted Caramel Mocha and a new pumpkin Cream Cold Brew on the same date. The Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew will consist of vanilla sweet cream and pumpkin spice sauce on top of Starbucks Cold Brew sweetened with vanilla syrup and finished with a dusting of pumpkin spiced topping.

Truthfully, that sounds like a lot of pumpkin spice flavors, but it might be a fun once-in-a-while sweet treat.

If you just can’t wait to get your PSL on, you have two options. The first is to go get yourself a slice of pumpkin bread and eat it while sitting in front of an air conditioner turned up high. The second is to make your very own pumpkin spice latte at home (which this author has done on numerous occasions to delicious results) and revel in your culinary successes.

Believe it or not, it’s fairly easy to make and equally delicious! We personally like this recipe from A Farmgirl’s Dabbles, which creates a drink that’s just as good as Starbucks, but won’t cost you as much money and may potentially be healthier too.

To whip up the pumpkin spice mixture, all you’ll need is canned pumpkin puree, milk, brown sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg and a couple of other spices — all of which can easily be found at your local grocery store or online.

But the absolute best part? Following the recipe leaves you with enough pumpkin spice mixture to make about 7-8 individual coffees. So you’ll have enough left over to build delicious drinks for the whole following week. When you are ready for another coffee, simply take the mixture out of the fridge, shake it and repeat the assembly process. It’s as simple as that!

Want even more pumpkin? Here are 10 pumpkin-flavored drinks that aren’t PSLs. You can choose everything from pumpkin pie smoothie, a pumpkin pie tea, and a delicious, pumpkin pie milkshake that’s far more seasonally appropriate for sticky August weather.

Personally, this author isn’t getting a Pumpkin Spice Latte until it’s cool enough to wear a sweater without immediately sweating through it. But if you just can’t wait to go grab yours, I will happily toast you with my iced coffee.
