While cereal is traditionally a breakfast food, there’s no shame in grabbing a bowl for lunch or dinner — or even just eating it dry as a snack.

If you’re looking for something a bit more interesting for your next snack, however, there’s a new product hitting store shelves soon that combines cereal with another favorite treat: popcorn!

Smartfood’s new Cap’n Crunch’s Crunch Berries Popcorn Mix combines air-popped popcorn tossed in “sweet berry goodness” with real Cap’n Crunch’s Crunch Berries.

Smartfood says the snack is crunchy and sweet and has 140 calories per serving. It is now available in stores nationwide for a limited time in two sizes: 6.25 oz. and 2 oz., at a suggested retail price of $3.99 and $1.89 respectively.

Of course, if you’d rather, you could also make the treat yourself by simply combining popcorn with the Crunch Berries cereal or any other cereal of your choosing. You’ll want to use air-popped popcorn, not buttered microwave popcorn, as that will give you a different taste that may not mix so well with the cereal.

You can also make your own fun popcorn if you want something a little more than just popcorn and cereal. If you like salty snacks, this recipe from Cookies and Cups for salted caramel popcorn combines butter, corn syrup, brown sugar and salt. If you’d rather stick to even more dessert-like flavors, this Moose Munch recipe from Baking A Moment merges caramel with white and dark chocolate.

If you prefer something sweet like the Moose Munch but don’t want to make it yourself, the brand Snack Pop offers multiple flavors of candy popcorn — which, of course, are mixed with candy.

Choose from Snickers popcorn, Butterfinger, Twix or the newest flavor, M&Ms Minis, which you can buy on on their website now. Or you could wait for fall, when you will be able to buy the new treat at Sam’s Club in 20-ounce bags.
