MILLARD COUNTY, Utah — An elderly couple from Queen Creek, Ariz. died Wednesday after their car collided with a semi trailer while traveling on Interstate 15 in Millard County.
Utah Highway Patrol says 74-year-old Floyd Wells was driving with his wife and passenger, 73-year-old Karen Wells, when their Toyota Camry veered into the emergency lane and slammed into the back of a parked semi trailer, killing them both on impact.
The accident happened on northbound I-15 near mile marker 177.
UHP says it appears no braking occurred prior to impact. They say that alcohol or drugs are not a suspected factor.
