LAYTON, Utah - A brush fire that started in the foothills of Layton near Highway 89 and Highway 193 was fully contained by 10 p.m. Sunday.
The Ridge Fire sparked at around 6:20 p.m. Saturday above Highway 193. The cause is under investigation, but the fire is believed to be human-caused.
The Layton Ridge subdivision was under mandatory evacuation Saturday night, but that evacuation was lifted at noon on Sunday.
On Sunday evening, fire officials said the Ridge Fire had burned 47.2 acres.
