UDOT road construction weekend update

Posted

New lanes on SR-92:

New commuter lanes on SR-92, Timpanogos Highway, in Utah County will be opening this Saturday.

These new commuter lanes provide a more direct route to and from I-15 for all drivers, not just carpoolers, which will make commuting easier.

Although the commuter lanes are open, some nighttime closures and restrictions will take place, so make sure to watch for signs and detours.

Tour of Utah closures:

The Tour of Utah is making its way through the state this weekend and the route will cause some temporary road closures.

On Friday, the route will head from Lehi, through the west side of the Salt Lake valley and finish in downtown Salt Lake. Closures will be in place downtown between 2:30 and 5 p.m. while riders finish the stage at Energy Solutions Arena.

On Saturday, racers will ride from Kimball Junction to Snowbird. Drivers should expect rolling closures between 11 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. in Wasatch, Summit, Utah and Salt Lake counties. Little Cottonwood Canyon will be closed from about 2 to 4 p.m.

And on Sunday, riders will loop through Kamas, Heber, Midway and Park City from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m.

Downtown Salt Lake City:

Construction work continues in downtown Salt Lake City. 500 and 600 South between I-15 and 200 West will have lane restrictions from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. every day but Sunday while crews repave the road.
