Amber Alert test set for Sunday

Posted

SALT LAKE CITY – Utah’s Amber Alert is testing out a new system on Sunday that will notify the public faster when a child has been abducted. The tests are held twice each year to make sure the public is notified more efficiently.

Utahns can get Amber Alerts via email or text, and the alert system is designed to be redundant so the public will still be notified of a child abduction if one or more of the notification methods fail. The plan also sends alerts via websites and Facebook.
