LAYTON, Utah — A former Northridge High School teacher was arrested Tuesday after she was accused of having a sex with a student.
Investigators from the Layton Police Department said they received information indicating that 35-year-old Chaarie Jaramillo had a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old male student from 2003 to 2004.
Jaramillo held a special “position of trust” with her students, police said in a statement sent to FOX 13 News.
Jaramillo faces three first-degree felony charges of rape and three second-degree felony charges of forcible sex abuse of a 17-year-old. Police said those charges were filed because of the position of trust Jaramillo had established with the student.
The investigation into the case is ongoing.
