HIGHLAND, Utah After a dominating season the men’s basketball team at Lone Peak High School has been named by MaxPreps as the 2012-2013 national champions.
The Knights won their third straight 5A state championship—where they won their four tournament games by an average margin of 32 points. They won their championship game by 33 points.
The team was also impressive when they played outside of Utah against some of the top teams in the country. The Knights beat California’s open division runner-up team Archbishop Mitty by 35 points, and they ended Chester, Pennsylvania’s 61-game winning streak.
The Knight’s finished the season with a 26-1 record. Their only loss came in the championship game of the prestigious City of Palms Classic tournament in Florida.
