SALT LAKE CITY -- The Days of '47 Parade marched through downtown Salt Lake City Wednesday in celebration of Pioneer Day.
Upwards of 250,000 people gathered to watch and cheer as the bands, floats and clowns made their way to Liberty Park.
Parade goer Goldie Burt said the parade is the highlight of her year. She said Salt Lake City knows how to do a parade better than anywhere else.
"Every year I say this is the best one we've ever had," she said.
For many, the parade is a family tradition and a celebration of their pioneer heritage.
"It's awesome!" parade spectator Bergandee Featherston said. "I'm so grateful for their sacrifice for us to be able to live in Salt Lake and to live in Utah and for that heritage."
