SALT LAKE CITY – A 16-year-old boy died Sunday after he fell out of an all-terrain vehicle and hit his head Saturday.
The accident occurred at 5791 West 2100 South in West Valley City at a Utah Department Of Transportation storage facility.
One of their employees and his son were test driving a personal ATV they were fixing up at that location, said John Gleason, Utah Department of Transportation spokesman.
It appears the cause of the teen’s death was due to a medical condition, Gleason said.
The name of the boy and details about the boy’s medical condition have not been released as of Sunday morning.
“The father reports that the 16-year-old boy slumped forward and then fell out of the vehicle, hit his head, and he has been transported in critical condition,” Gleason said.
The teen was taken to University Hospital via medical helicopter.
