Cheyenne, Wyo. — Eighty-eight pounds of marijuana was seized during a traffic stop in Wyoming Aug. 4, officials said Monday.
Wyoming HIghway Patrol trooper stopped Porn Souwankham, who was traveling east on Interstate Highway 80. The Minnesota man was warned for following too closely.
The trooper reportedly discovered $528,000 worth in marijuana in three duffel bags in the trunk of Souwankham’s vehicle after the man gave the trooper permission to search his vehicle.
Souwankham faces felony charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. Special Agents with the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation are assisting the Wyoming Highway Patrol with this investigation.
Investigators believe Souwankham was transporting the marijuana across the state of Wyoming for delivery out of state.
The case remains under investigation.
