OGDEN, Utah — A suspect is in custody after crews responded to an early morning house fire Tuesday.
The fire started around 4:40 a.m. at 671 20th Street in Ogden.
Firefighters said prior to their arrival, two police officers used a fire extinguisher to put out the fire that was on the stove. Officers reported that flames were reaching the ceiling when the entered the home.
When fire crews arrived they said they quickly put out the remaining flames. They said it appeared that the fire was intentionally set.
Police officers said the occupant of the home was found hiding across the street, and was taken into custody.
No injuries were reported.
Officers said this fire does not appear to be related to the suspicious Ogden Parkway fires that also appeared to be intentionally set.
