(CNN) — A man accused of opening fire at an Atlanta-area elementary school this week had been arrested five months earlier on suspicion of threatening to kill his brother, a district attorney in Georgia’s Henry County said Wednesday.

Michael Brandon Hill, armed with an AK-47, barricaded himself in the front office of the Ronald E. McNair Discovery Learning Academy on Tuesday and fired about six shots toward school officers before eventually surrendering to police, DeKalb County police said.

No one was injured in Tuesday’s shooting.

Hill, 20, had been arrested in March on a charge of “terroristic threats and acts,” accused of threatening to kill his brother by text in neighboring Henry County in late December, Henry County District Attorney James Wright said.

Hill was found guilty of the charge and was ordered to serve three years of probation and attend anger management classes, Wright said.

CNN’s Catherine E. Shoichet contributed to this report.
