SPANISH FORK, Utah – About a dozen people gathered in Spanish Fork Saturday afternoon to protest against the possibility of U.S. military involvement in Syria.

The protesters waved signs at the intersection of Main Street and Center Street after President Barack Obama said he plans to seek congressional authorization for a strike into Syria.

Demonstrators said their message is simple, and they just want U.S. officials to slow down and think before getting involved. They said their signs urged people to “honk for peace,” and they said their message was largely well-received.
