DRAPER, Utah – A police officer was shot and killed, and two people were critically injured after a shooting in Draper Sunday morning.
Police had a perimeter in place for several hours in the area from 900 East to 1300 East and from 12400 South to 12800 South while police searched for the suspect. Police later said one or both of the two people injured are believed to be responsible for Sgt. Derek Johnson’s death.
Draper police said the containment was lifted everywhere except in the area of Fort Street between Walden Lane and 13300 South, as the area is a crime scene. Residents in that area have been asked to stay inside their homes. Those who live in the area and need access will need to provide police with proof of residency to be escorted in.
FOX 13 News’ Carly Figueroa spoke to several people in the neighborhood who were impacted by the quarantine, see the video above for more details.
