PROVO, Utah – A Brigham Young University football player was suspended for Friday night’s game against Middle Tennessee.

BYU Head Football Coach Bronco Mendenhall announced Friday that senior wide receiver Cody Hoffman had been suspended due to a violation of team rules, according to a press release from BYU Athletics.

Hoffman is suspended for one game. Further details about the suspension were not immediately available.

According to the press release, Hoffman leads BYU with 10 receptions and 171 yards in two games played. He missed the season opener against Virginia due to a hamstring injury.

Hoffman is the second BYU player to face a suspension this month. Senior Linebacker Spencer Hadley was suspended for several games due to violations of the school’s Honor Code.
