SALT LAKE CITY – Dozens of Utahns are hoping to become the next American Idol, and the show’s judges were in Salt Lake City this week to hear the hopefuls sing.

Talented Utahns lined up for their chance to sing for celebrities like Jennifer Lopez, Harry Connick Jr. and Keith Urban, and these auditions were the second round for Utahns in the process.

Ryan Seacrest said the next American Idol could be in Utah.

“We have found some very good people,” he said. “We have not found who we think could be the Idol yet, the winner yet, so that's why we are here. Hopefully we find an individual that has that potential today."

FOX 13 News spoke with judges and contestants, check out the video above for more.
