DRAPER, Utah – One man received burn injuries after a two-alarm fire in Draper Saturday night, and several nearby homes were evacuated as crews battled the blaze.

Officials said they received reports of a fire at 12146 S. Pond Ridge Drive just after 8 p.m., and when crews arrived, smoke and flames were coming out of the windows.

The man who was burned was treated on scene then taken to an area hospital. Firefighters were able to rescue three dogs in the house, said Unified Fire spokesman Brian Anderton.

Anderton did not have an estimated cost of damage to the property. He said the family would not be able to get back into their home for a while and would be staying with relatives in the area.

The cause of the blaze is still under investigation.

Officials said police began evacuating nearby homes, as they feared the fire would spread. The fire was under control within 20 minutes of responders arriving at the scene.
