Real Salt Lake defender Chris Schuler scored in overtime to give RSL a 2-0 win over the Los Angeles Galaxy. RSL beat the 2-time defending MLS Cup champions 2-to-1 in the aggregate score to advance to the Western Conference Finals.

Schuler’s goal came after a foul from the Galaxy. It set up a free kick by Javier Morales, and he found Schuler open on the far post. Schuler put his right foot on the cross and put it in for the game-winning goal.

RSL took the lead in the first half on a goal from Sebastian Velasquez. Chris Wingert set him up with a great cross into the 18 yard box, and Velasquez headed into the back of the net to put RSL up 1-0, and tie the aggregate score at 1-1.

RSL will play Portland or Seattle in the Western Conference Finals.
