PROVO, Utah -- Two men involved in an alleged homicide appeared in court for their arraignment Wednesday.

Mason French, 24, and Travis Waldron, 24, heard the formal charges of murder, obstruction of justice and being restricted persons in possession of a firearm read in court.

The men are accused of shooting and killing Rupert Miley, 42, while he was driving in Orem on Nov. 19.

Prosecutors said the homicide was the result of a drug deal gone bad. They said Waldron in particular was angry over money he felt was owed to him by Miley.

Both Waldron and French will remain behind bars for now. French is being held on a $1 million cash only bond while Waldron is being held without bail.

Both men were assigned public defenders, and they will be back in court on Dec. 10.
