SALT LAKE CITY – An organization is giving back during the holidays by providing seven patients with a free joint replacement surgery.
Operation Walk is teaming up with The Center for Precision Joint Replacement, and together they chose patients based on the severity of their condition and their immediate need for surgical treatment. All pre and post-operative costs are covered.
Trevor Magee is an orthopedic surgeon at the Hoffman Arthritis Institute, and he said the effort is a chance to help others.
“This is about helping our community and giving back to our community and the people that really need it, and the people that we think are going to make the biggest difference in our community,” Magee said.
Audra Porter is one of the seven patients who were selected. She had a knee replacement surgery after a water skiing accident that damaged her knee and ligaments.
