A man was sentenced Monday to one year in jail for firing into a woman’s home.
Harold Stone pleaded guilty in September to firing several shots into the house of a woman he was accused of stalking. Stone and the victim, Angie Johnston, worked at a law firm together.
Prosecutors dropped charges of stalking and obstruction of justice in exchange for Stone’s plea.
Johnston had few words after the sentencing, but did say she thought justice was served.
“I feel a little safer, but I’m just glad it’s over and that’s it really. That’s all I want to say,” Johnston said.
Third District Judge Robin Reese also sentenced Stone to three years probation and ordered him not to have guns, alcohol or contact with the victim.
