WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah -- A 15-year-old boy was injured Wednesday morning after he was hit by a school bus.
Granite School District spokesperson Ben Horsley said the boy is a student at Granger High School. He said the teen was coming into a crosswalk near 3100 South and 2200 West when the bus driver made a left turn and hit him.
West Valley City police officers said the teen was crossing against the light, and the bus had the right of way. They said it was dark and the bus driver didn't see the boy until it was too late.
The teen was taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Police said he was alert and talking after the accident.
Officers said they don't think the bus driver will be cited, but the teenager could be for crossing against the light.
The name of the student and the bus driver have not been released.
