PROVO, Utah -- Although U.S. District Court Judge Robert Shelby denied a motion to halt same-sex marriages in Utah, Utah County Clerk Bryan Thompson has refused to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples.
"I think just a short, prudent review at this time," Thompson said. "We're not looking to extend this out for weeks or anything. We're just looking for a day or two. I think it's appropriate to do that. And I understand their arguments of contempt of court, but I think it's prudent as the elected official."
