Spanish Fork family displaced by Christmas Eve house fire

Posted

SPANISH FORK, Utah –A Spanish Fork family’s home was destroyed in a fire Tuesday night while they were attending a family Christmas party.

The fire started at about 9:30 p.m. near 100 N 200 W.  A neighbor of the Jensen family called them to notify them about the fire.

When the Jensens returned to their home, they found the interior was ruined. Their personal belongings, including Christmas presents, were destroyed.

“[I could] see the smoke and the blaze and, yeah, that’s what I came home to Christmas Eve,” said Andy Jensen, who moved into the house with his family in October.

Investigators spent Christmas at the house in an attempt to determine the cause of the fire. As of Wednesday afternoon, the cause was still unknown.

The Jensen family said they have been staying with family members and have also received aid from the Red Cross.
