KEARNS, Utah — Unified Police said a Christmas party turned violent when the host caught two party attendees breaking into his car.
The altercation happened Wednesday afternoon near 6100 W and Lodestone Dr. in Kearns. When the host caught the alleged burglars, one of them pulled out a gun, police said.
The party host then punched the person with the gun, police said, and grabbed the weapon. The suspects then fled the scene.
“There were folks at the party who chased them down, caught them a couple blocks south of here and actually hit one of the suspects with the vehicle and then assaulted or hit the other suspect with a hammer,” said Deputy Chief Shane Hudson, Unified Police Department.
The suspect who was hit by a car was taken to a hospital and listed in fair condition. The other suspect hasn’t been caught.
