Malad schools off lockdown after armed robbery reports

MALAD, Idaho — Three schools in Malad were put on lockdown after reports of an armed robbery Wednesday.

Malad Superintendent David Risenmay said Malad High School, Middle School and Elementary School were put on lockdown around 10 a.m. after a reverse 911 call was sent out regarding an armed robbery at the town’s post office.

The suspect involved in the alleged robbery is considered armed and dangerous.

The schools are no longer on lockdown as of 1 p.m.
