SALT LAKE CITY– The University of Utah gymnastics team opened the season at home by topping a pair of in-state rivals and Boise State to win their season opener at the Huntsman Center on Saturday.

The Broncos came in second to the Red Rocks, followed by BYU with Southern Utah rounding out the four-school meet.

Utah managed a sizable victory, finishing with a 196.650, with Boise almost a full point back at 195.850.

The meet was the return of Utah's Corrie Lothrup, an All-American who missed most of 2013 with a ruptured Achilles tendon. She competed in just two events, scoring 9.075 on the bars and 9.8 on the beam.

The high scores for Utah were Georgia Dabritz (bars) and Tory Wilson (bars) each with a 9.950. Haylee Rollins (bars) and Raquel Willman (vault) led BYU with scores of 9.825. Danielle Ramirez posted the top score for SUU with a 9.9 on the vault.
