(CNN) — At least 10 people were hurt Monday in a fire and partial building collapse at an industrial plant in Omaha, Nebraska, the city’s interim fire chief said.
Some others were unaccounted for, he said, but the precise number was unclear.
Thirty-eight people were working in the International Nutrition when the incident happened at about 10 a.m., Interim Fire Chief Bernard Kangerin said. The company produces feed and other products for livestock and poultry.
Those who were hurt included a firefighter who suffered a non-life-threatening injury, Kangerin said. The others were taken to hospitals, said Kangerin, who did not specify the severity of their injuries.
Rescuers were trying to shore up the building to make it safe to search, he said.
