WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah -- Two people are in custody after a standoff in West Valley City Tuesday morning.
Police responded to a call about possible gunshots in a home in the area of 4100 West And 3625 South around 2 a.m.
When officers arrived on scene they tried to make contact with the people inside the home. When they couldn't make contact, they called in a SWAT team to secure the neighborhood.
West Valley City Deputy Chief Mike Powell said around 6 a.m. officers were able to establish a line of communication with the residents inside the home, and the situation was resolved with no injuries.
"[The residents] were contacted via phone and we were able to get them to come to the front door," Powell said. "They both were detained by our SWAT team. At this point we have detectives on scene and they are investigating further to determine what occurred early this morning."
