WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah – Police are searching for three armed robbers who allegedly held residents at gunpoint while stealing property.

Police officials said the incident occurred at a residence at 3200 South 1725 West in West Valley City at about 8:25 a.m. Wednesday.

Three men, two of whom were described as Hispanic and one of whom was described as white, allegedly entered the home by force and held the homeowners at gunpoint as they ransacked and robbed the residence.

Sgt. Chad Evans of the West Valley City Police Department said they are glad the victims are safe.

“No one was injured luckily,” he said. “I mean, any time anybody forces entry into homes armed with firearms there’s a huge potential for injury and death. We’re glad that nothing of that nature happened today at this house.”

Evans said police are investigating the incident and working to get a description of the suspects’ getaway vehicle. The three suspects are believed to be in their 20s or 30s.
